The main problem raised is the lack of empirical understanding of how media reports reflect changes in MSME performance and whether the dynamics of these narratives move in the same direction as business recovery. This research aims to map topic patterns, measure news sentiment using a special MSME–crisis sentiment dictionary, and link it with MSME income trends as an business indicator. Through the stages of text preprocessing, LDA topic modeling, and lexicon-based sentiment calculations, this research found that in the early phase of the pandemic, the news was dominated by crisis topics and had a negative tone in line with the decline in MSME income. Entering the recovery phase, the proportion of government support topics, economic programs and market activity increased, followed by a shift in sentiment to become more positive. In the post-pandemic period, the media narrative has become increasingly stable and growth-oriented, consistent with the trend of increasing MSME income. These findings show that the dynamics of media narratives move parallel to the economic conditions of MSMEs and can be a supporting indicator for reading the crisis, transition and recovery phases. In conclusion, text mining in local news can provide strategic insight for local governments and MSME actors in understanding public perceptions and directing communication strategies and economic recovery policies.
Ares Albirru Amsal, Berri Brilliant Albar Copyright (c) 2025 JIM UPB (Jurnal Ilmiah Manajemen Universitas Putera Batam) https://ejournal.upbatam.ac.id/index.php/jim/article/view/10938 Tue, 23 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000 THE EFFECT OF BRAND IMAGE AND PRICE ON THE PURCHASE DECISION OF BOOTHS AT THE VINKOO JAKARTA FEST 2025 EVENT IN MEDAN https://ejournal.upbatam.ac.id/index.php/jim/article/view/10861
Vinkoo Jakarta Fest is one of the fashion and culinary bazaars regularly held in Medan by Vinkoo Event Organizer since 2019. This event showcases products from various major cities in Indonesia and even abroad. In 2025, during the Chinese New Year celebrations, Vinkoo Jakarta Fest experienced significant growth with the number of booths increasing to 300 from the previous 120-160 booths, even featuring booths from Penang, which influenced purchasing decisions. However, there was a problem with the prices being set at the same level without considering strategic locations, which caused dissatisfaction among some tenants. Booth purchase decisions are greatly influenced by brand image and price, where a positive brand image can increase tenant confidence in the quality of the event, while a price that is in line with the benefits encourages tenant interest in participating. This study aims to examine how brand image and price influence booth purchase decisions at the Vinkoo Jakarta Fest event, both partially and simultaneously. This study uses a quantitative research method with data collection conducted through questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in this study is multiple regression analysis using the SPSS 26 data processing program with a total of 100 respondents. The results of this study indicate that brand image and price partially and simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on the decision to purchase a booth at the Vinkoo Jakarta Fest 2025 event in Medan. The results of the coefficient of determination (R2) test show that brand image and price can influence the decision to purchase a booth by 67.9%, with the remaining 32.1% influenced by other variables not examined in this study
Kartika Oktavia Pasaribu, Sarah Rouli Tambunan Copyright (c) 2025 JIM UPB (Jurnal Ilmiah Manajemen Universitas Putera Batam) https://ejournal.upbatam.ac.id/index.php/jim/article/view/10861 Tue, 23 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000 EXPLORING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SOCIAL MEDIA ENGAGEMENT, LIFESTYLE, COFFEE CULTURE TO CAFÉ VISIT INTENSITY AMONG STUDENTS https://ejournal.upbatam.ac.id/index.php/jim/article/view/10899
This study investigates the relationship between Social Media Engagement, Lifestyle, and Coffee Culture on Café Visit Intensity among university students. A quantitative approach was used through Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) analysis involving 105 respondents who were students at Surabaya State University. The results show that the quality of interaction and artificial intelligence-based personalisation have a positive effect on the affective aspect, which in turn increases impulsive buying intention. Both independent variables also have a direct positive effect on impulsive buying intention, while the affective aspect acts as a mediator that strengthens this relationship. This study has limitations in its focus on the TikTok platform and student respondents, so further research is recommended to expand the research object and population coverage. A total of five hypotheses were tested in this study, and all were accepted based on the PLS-SEM analysis results.
Irsyad Daffa Armmawadin, Riska Dhenabayu Copyright (c) 2025 JIM UPB (Jurnal Ilmiah Manajemen Universitas Putera Batam) https://ejournal.upbatam.ac.id/index.php/jim/article/view/10964 Tue, 23 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000 GREEN MARKETING AND ECO-PACKAGING ORIENTATION TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS: AN EMPIRICAL STUDY OF ORGANIC FOOD CONSUMERS IN BANDUNG CITY https://ejournal.upbatam.ac.id/index.php/jim/article/view/10970
This study examines the impact of green marketing orientation and eco-packaging on sustainable consumption behavior among organic food consumers in Bandung. Using a mixed-methods approach that combines quantitative surveys of 250 public sector employees with in-depth qualitative interviews of 15 senior administrators, this research provides compelling evidence that integrated HRM reforms produce significantly better outcomes than isolated interventions. The structural equation modeling analysis reveals that digital transformation serves as a powerful amplifier, enhancing training effectiveness by 45% and leadership impact by 38%. The study identifies three critical success factors for successful public sector HRM reform: strategic alignment with organizational objectives, technological infrastructure readiness, and comprehensive change management capabilities. These findings offer valuable insights for policymakers and public administrators seeking to enhance organizational performance through strategic human resource management. The research contributes to both theoretical understanding and practical implementation of public sector reforms in developing countries, particularly in the unique context of Indonesian bureaucracy. The integrated HRM reform model developed in this study explains 67% of variance in organizational performance, demonstrating its strong predictive power and practical utility for public sector transformation initiatives.
Didy Maharudin, Yuliana, Sri Indra Yani Copyright (c) 2025 JIM UPB (Jurnal Ilmiah Manajemen Universitas Putera Batam) https://ejournal.upbatam.ac.id/index.php/jim/article/view/10929 Tue, 23 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000 ANALYSIS OF WORK ENVIRONMENT AND WORK MOTIVATION ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE AT GUNAWANGSA MANYAR APARTMENT IN SURABAYA https://ejournal.upbatam.ac.id/index.php/jim/article/view/10897
This study aims to analyse the influence of work environment and work motivation on employee performance at Gunawangsa Manyar Apartment in Surabaya.
